YOUNG cricketers in Kington continue to thrive with the help of local sponsors.
The club recently held a World Cup Family Day when a mixture of hard and soft ball competitions and games were held.
Talking point of the day came when the under-15 age group players challenged their parents to a match.
A game of experience versus youthful energy took place and a very entertaining and competitive match finished in a 13 run win for the Dad’s.
The evening was finished off with a BBQ and talk of a re-match.
The youth section had their photo taken in their new training tops, along with their sponsors Andrew of A.A.G Waring Carpentry, Joinery and Timber Frame Specialist; and Graham of John Priday Construction Ltd.
The youth section are most grateful for the support and time given to the club by Graham and Andrew.
The club are very grateful for the efforts of coach and team manager Nic Dinsdale, coaches Anna Robertson and Michael Green, and all the parents who help out and support the kids all the time.
The club are so proud of the youth section and are pleased to see some of the older players progressing into the senior sides and the club has a promising future with the amount of talent and enthusiasm that is coming through the ranks.
