HEREFORD FC have confirmed the signing of 32-year-old defender Jared Hodgkiss.

The full-back has impressed since being on trail since the start of pre-season and has agree to make a permanent move to Edgar Street.

“I’ve enjoyed the games that I’ve played here in pre-season and I’m looking forward to getting the season started next week,” Hodgkiss told the official Hereford FC website.

“I know a few of the players here and they’ve all said what a good set up it is. The conversations that I’ve had with Tim and Marc have been encouraging as well, so I’m really excited.”

Last season Hodgkiss made 20 appearances for League Two side Macclesfield after helping them to National League promotion the season before.

Hodgkiss, who started as a West Bromwich Albion trainee has made over 160 appearances for Forest Green Rovers and close to 100 appearances for Kidderminster Harriers.

Hereford FC Head of Football Tim Harris added: “We’ve been very encouraged by his experience, leadership and what we’ve seen during the games he has played in.

“He’s a player who will provide us with some excellent defensive quality and we’re delighted that we’ve managed to secure his signature.”
