HEREFORDSHIRE junior sides have had a good start to their campaign with a host of victories.

The under-13 girls side were pushed all the way by Gloucestershire.

The girls scored 93 in their 20 overs and in reply Gloucestershire fell one run short of their target.

The under-11 boys recorded wins against Shropshire and Worcestershire.

Against Shropshire the county side scored 134-8. In reply Shropshire were all out for 109.

In their second match the under-11s bowled Worcestershire out for 66 in 14.5 overs.

In reply Herefordshire knocked off the winning runs easily.

The under-13 boys side have won one and tied one so far this season.

Against Worcestershire they were bowled out for 147.

Then in a nail biting finish Herefordshire bowled Worcestershire out with just one ball spare to tie the game.

In another close game against Cardiff and the Vale, Herefordshire scored 176-6.

In the ECB Cup the under-14's beat Buckinghamshire by two runs.

The Herefordshire batsmen reached 196 for eight off their allotted 50 overs.

In reply Buckinghamshire put on a third wicket stand of 69 which gave them a good start.

However, some solid bowling performances resulted in the Buckinghamshire batsmen falling just two runs short of their target.

The under-17's played their first fixture of the season against an Australian touring side. Herefordshire scored 303-4.

In reply Wanderers CC NSW were all out for 275 with Sam Roberts taking three wickets.
