KINGTON captain Michael Green hit a staggering 230 runs from 138 balls as he led his side to a convincing 137-run victory over Brockhampton thirds in the GB Liners Marches Division One.

Opener Green struck 32 fours and nine sixes as he carried his team to setting a target of 320-8 off their 45 overs.

The all-rounder also led with the ball taking 3-25 off nine overs as the hosts were bowled out for 183, thanks largely to a knock of 70 by Matt Davies.

Wormelow remain top and continued their good run of form with a fine 24 run win, against reigning Marches League champions, Luctonians.

Matt Deem (49) and Richard Stafford (36) gave the home side a superb start, with a disciplined opening stand of 93 as their side set a target of 203-7.

The Luctonians run chase got off to the worst possible start with Duncan Platford being bowled by opener Elliott Williams (1-29) in the first over, for a duck.

Will Maund (42) and James Platford (37) began taking the attack to Wormelow, building a stand of 53 runs.

Boundaries were being found but Platford was trapped LBW by home side skipper Tom Cutler (3-37) swaying the game back in Wormelow’s favour with his side eventually bowling them out for 179.

Garnons are just two points behind the leaders after a convincing nine-wicket victory over Builth Wells.

After electing to field the Byford side took early wickets between Stuart Griffiths (2-30) and Ben Elias (3-19).

However, number five batsman swung the tie by adding 55 on to their total as Builth set a target of 179-8.

In reply Garnons never looked in trouble as openers James Debenham (45no) and Elias 68 put them in firm control.

Paul Williams then hit an unbeaten 46 as they reached their target with eight overs remaining.

Garnons seconds are also hitting their stride in Division Two as a hit of 118 by captain Stuart Turpin helped his side to a narrow winning draw over league leaders Woolhope.

Opposition captain Will Green struck an unbeaten half-century for Woolhope in reply, but his side fell seven runs short of their target to finish on 223-7.
