WORK is beginning this week on the 3G pitch at the Herefordshire FA County Ground.

The project is to be worked on throughout the summer with work starting on Wednesday (June 16) and expected to take 16 weeks.

During this period access to the site will be made across Widemarsh Common via a temporary track.

The Herefordshire FA have advised that as a result there may be some disruption to members of the public in the immediate vicinity of Widemarsh Common and the construction site, although every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum. Herefordshire FA would like to issue their thanks for patience during this period.

Simon Panes, CEO of Herefordshire FA said: “We are committed to ensuring football is a sport for all and the new pitch will allow us to expand our offer as we grow the game in Herefordshire. From disability football to coach education and adult 11v11 football, the new 3G pitch will provide a huge boost to the local community.”

The Herefordshire FA would like to thank everyone who has helped support the project so far, including councillor Polly Andrews, Herefordshire Council Planning, The Football Foundation, Hereford Lads Club and our other local clubs as well as the wider community.

Work is already underway on another 3G pitch which is being installed at Pegasus Juniors.
