EX-Hereford players Gavin Williams and Alex Harris were amongst an All Stars side which took part in the Ian Dawson Memorial Game at the weekend.

Taking place over the county border at Worrall Hill they took on an Ian Dawson XI to mark the fifth anniversary of his passing.

The skills of former West Ham and Bristol City winger Williams were evident as he opened the scoring after 15 minutes.

The All Stars side continued to create numerous chances with the midfield trio of Dave Bird, Joe Turley and Williams running the show and further goals came.

The goal of the game came from new Lydney Town manager Richard Kear as his side led 4-0 at the break.

All Stars managers Mark Lee and John Brough made a raft changes at the interval, with some of the All Stars team switching sides.

Two further goals in the second half made the final score 6-0.

Paul Willetts, who helped to organise the match said: "It has been a great afternoon and a decent crowd here to watch so I hope we've done Ian proud."

Gavin Williams added: "It has been really fun and I'm glad I came.

"There was some good footballers out there today, with some good goals. Credit to everyone who played and supported the game, it's for an excellent cause."
