BROCKHAMPTON continued to struggle in the Birmingham & District Premier Division Two as they fell to a fifth defeat in seven matches.

The day had started so brightly for The Parks side who elected to bat and put on 50 runs without the fall of a wicket in the opening hour.

However, when Worcestershire professional Daryl Mitchell lost his wicket for 37 the visiting Oswestry side sensed blood.

Sam Davies added the wicket of Mitchell with two more as Brockhampton stuttered on 76-3.

Overseas player Param Uppal continued his form with 27, but wickets continued to fall and the hosts were only boosted again by Dominic Badger (26) as his side were skittled out for 164.

Top bowling figures for Oswestry were taken by Warwick Flynn with 4-36.

In reply Australian right-arm bowler Uppal took three wickets, including two leg before wickets, which had the match in the balanced and Oswestry down to 79-3.

However, a half century for Roman Walker helped his side to victory as he came in and hit 50 off 41 balls within 37 minutes as his side easily reached their target off 28 overs.

This weekend Brockhampton will be looking to close the gap on their relegation rivals with the visit to The Park of Bromsgrove.
