SAM Rawlings was named Westfields' Player of the Year at the club's end of season awards evening.

The defender, who joined Westfields from Shortwood United three seasons ago, has given another sound season to Fields and deservedly took the award.

The Players’ Player of the Year, was won by Aidan Thomas who ironically also finished joint top goal-scorer with Ben Miller.

The Young Player of the Year was won by Keanu Cooper who joined Westfields this season from Shawbury United and proved an excellent signing, scoring important goals from his midfield position.

The Hereford FA Premier Division side Westfields Reserves also celebrated with presentations.

Their Player of the Year was Joe Williamson, the Young Player was Owen Boulton and the leading goal-scorer was shared equally between Ben Thomas and Ieuan Woodcock.

Westfields chief executive, Andy Morris, in his address paid tribute to Andy Bevan, Phil Glover and Paul Willetts who had all worked extremely hard with the Midland Football League side to secure a fourth position in the league table and win the HFA County Challenge Cup.

Morris continued saying that they had come a long way since their move to allpay.park in 2003/2004 and both the Midland Football League side, the Herefordshire Premier Division side and the whole of the youth set-up now, headed up by Rory Hollingshead, had given the club a great future.

Morris also presented to the retiring chairman, John Morgan, an engraved decanter to celebrate the years that he had served the club as he was standing down from this position but will remain a club director.
