WESTFIELDS will host a Cardiff City XI in the Herefordshire Senior Invitation final at Allpay Park on Saturday, July 27 (3pm kick-off).

As winners of the HFA County Senior Challenge Cup, Phil Glover's side were asked to host the final and invite a senior club of their choice.

"Out of courtesy we invited Hereford FC as they are the senior club in the county but they turned us down several weeks ago," said Westfields chief executive Andy Morris.

"So I invited Cardiff City as they are the holders of the cup having beaten Hereford in last season's final and they accepted the invitation to play which we are delighted with."

Westfields will also have home friendlies with Southern League Premier Division club Alvechurch on Tuesday, July 23 and old rivals Malvern Town on Tuesday, July 30 (both 7.45 pm kick offs).

Glover’s side start their pre-season preparations at Kidlington Town on July 13. The following week they take a trip  to Portsmouth on Saturday, July 20, to have a ‘bonding weekend’ at The Royal Navy and play Horndene from the Wessex League (kick off 1pm).

Wellington start their pre-season preparations against Hereford FC on Saturday, July 6.

The following week they will travel to Hay St Mary's on Tuesday, July 9 and then host Llandrindod Wells on July 13.

Wellington's first team will play Cheltenham Saracens away on July 16, Kidderminster Harriers under-23 at home on July 23 and Radnor Valley at home on August 3.
