HEREFORDSHIRE Motor Club members Nigel Mee and John Fellowes were challenging for the podium positions once again at the Corinium Stages based at Down Ampney in the Cotswolds recently.
Fresh from his third place overall in the Get It Sideways rally last month Mee joined by Fellowes had a strong drive to finish fourth overall and first Herefordshire Motor Club members.
Apart from a 360-degree spin which saw them narrowly miss a large bale and a problem with a fuel pump connection their Springfield Poultry backed Subaru ran faultlessly all day.
The Corinium Stages formed part of three major championships leading to a good field of 73 starters taking on the eight stages totalling 50 stage miles.
Fellow Herefordshire competitors Dean Davies and Cameron Wheatley suffered misfortune with a propshaft failure in their Escort 2000 on stage four.
Lewers Firth was the second Herefordshire driver home and finished an impressive 16th overall and third in class in his BMW 328.
Behind a great battle developed between Lewis Mason/Dan Petrie in their Renault Clio and Joe Piggott/Ben Williams in the Citroen Saxo VTR, both finished having exactly the same time earning them both equal 24th.
Meanwhile, Josh Jenkins in his Peugeot took part in only his second ever rally finishing 46th overall and sixth. in class.
