  • Rolling match report:
  • Hereford FC started the game the brighter of the two sides and had two good chances to put themselves ahead. John Mills, who's been on loan from Bath City to Westfields recently, blazed a shot over the bar after weaving his way into the box.
  • Two chances for Sol Wheatley were then kept out by goalkeeper Wayne Brown.
  • The first real chance of the game for Hereford United saw the former pros miss a sitter. Stuart Fleetwood did well to flick the ball on to Andy Williams unmarked in the area, but he screwed a shot well-wide with just the 'keeper left to beat.
  • A mistake from Ryan Green in defence for United saw John Mills roll the ball into the back of the net, but the linesman's flag was raised for offside.
  • A great chance then game after a quick break for Stuart Fleetwood down the left, but after getting past Harry Franklin he sent his shot wide of the upright.
  • -
  • Into the second half and Hereford FC wasted no time in going in search of a goal. Pablo Haysham had a volley whistle wide of the post after a quick one-two with Sol Wheatley.
  • Haysham didn't make the same mistake twice, finding the target four minutes after the restart. A snapshot from the creative forward was too far out of reach for Matt Baker, who'd come on at half time in place of Wayne Brown.
  • Supporters then started to be given ten minute game time after taking part in a raffle to play with the legends, with one fan managed to force Martin Horsell into making a save to deny him an equaliser for United.
  • Jamie Willets has had two successful seasons at Alvechurch since leaving Edgar Street and in the 70th minute almost double Hereford FC's lead. He broke forward from his centre-back position. Unchallenged, he surged through the middle of the park but his weak shot was saved by Matt Clarke.
  • Into the last ten minutes at Edgar Street, the United players managed to pull themselves back level. A Steve Guinan corner was met by the head of Michael Townsend who stood tallest in the box to head home.
  • The score wasn't level for long though, with fans-favourite John Mills restoring Hereford FC's one-goal lead. Pablo Haysham created the chance for his former strike partner, with Mills left with the easy task of side-footing the ball into the back of the net with the hard work already done.
