HEREFORD FC Head of Football Tim Harris says that the club have started ‘preliminary talks’ with current and potentially new players ahead of the summer break.

That’s in addition to the five players contracted to the club next season: Tom Owen-Evans, Kieran Thomas, Kyle Finn, Rowan Liburd and Josh Gowling.

Talking to the club’s website Harris said: “It’s going to be a busy summer at Edgar Street as we look to put together a squad that can push for promotion next season. “We are all acutely aware of the expectation a club of our size creates and our ambitions are the same as the committed supporters who follow the team with such passion, both home and away.

“After three successive promotions we completely understand why many fans were disappointed with the way things went on the pitch during the 2018/19 season, but the positive we can all take is that in the end we stayed in the National League North comfortably.

“I’d like to thank supporters for the part they played in getting behind the team week in and week out. Everyone at the club knows how lucky we are to have the backing of such a large fan base, and one that has fans that regularly travel in such large numbers despite the huge distances some of our away trips involve.

“Marc and I are determined to build a squad this summer that will not only win matches, but that will also play the type of football that fans want to see. We know what is required of us as we plan for next season and we completely understand that when the 2019/20 campaign starts, we are going to be rightfully judged on the way the team performs once we have the chance to build our own squad.”
