LUCTONIANS Colts put in a performance to make their coaches proud as they ran over six second half tries to beat Old Halesonians 41-10 to lift the North Midlands Colts Cup.

Underdogs Old Halesonians came out firing early in the tie snatching an early try as they looked to cause an upset.

The power of the Lucs' forwards eventually told as Jack Prescott touched down amid a mass of bodies to give them a 7-5 half-time lead.

George Sweetman started the second half onslaught after the break by charging through.

Pierre Watkins added a third Luctonians try before Max Smith managed to lunge through a crowd for a further score.

Old Halesonians once again responded only for Watkins to power across the whitewash.

Sweetman added a further score for the travelling Lucs team before Aaron Layton drove over under pressure.

Luctonians Colts' coach Brett Prior showed his dedication to the cause by flying back in from holiday for the match and returning again that night.

Next Saturday the Colts will have to lift their game even higher for the semi-final of the National Cup at Wharfedale when they will be looking to make more club history.
