ONE of Wormelow Cricket Club's founder members has died at the age of 90.
Tom Cooke was one of a group of villagers who restarted the club in 1965 after it had lain dormant since before the Second World War.
He acted as groundsman at the club's Kennel Field ground in their early days and served as assistant treasurer.
He was also one of 10 life members of the GB Liners Marches League Club.
After military service, Tom Cooke spent most of his working life as a mechanic with Morris, Wargent and Wilde.
His funeral will take place at Much Birch Church at 3pm on Tuesday, April 16.
