STRIKER Jamie Molyneux has left Westfields to join Halesowen Town in a bid to play more minutes on the pitch.

Molyneux went straight into Halesowen side for their Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Central game against Rushall Olympic

“Jamie left yesterday as he wasn’t going to be in the 16 today so he wanted to go and get games, I respect that and understand that,” said Westfields manager Andy Bevan.

“He has gone to Halesowen as he wants to get games and I respect that. It’s weird as he has been on the bench a couple of times for us in the last couple of weeks.

“We wanted to try the other lads in there ready for next season so I spoke to him about it. It’s weird as he goes to a league higher straight away. It shows how tough it is at this level. It’s unbelievably that he can’t get in our and gets in theirs straight away.

“That’s nothing against Jamie as he’s a top lad but it just hasn’t worked out for him. Since we brought John Mils in we thought we would have Aiden (Thomas, him and Mills down the middle we thought it would be great.

“But it just hasn’t worked out which has been a shame.”

John Mills was also missing for Westfields’ 0-0 draw against Highgate United after suffering an illness.

“John Mills was ill yesterday so we lost two of them then. One was our decision and unfortunately you can’t do anything about Mills being ill.

“We coped with it greatly and created enough chances to win the game and should have won the game.”
