LUCTONIANS' Juniors and Colts sides followed the example of their senior counterparts by taking a clean sweep of semi-final victories with three sides now in the North Midlands Cup Finals.

The under-16s hosted Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club in the first of the semi-final encounters in tough conditions.

Lucs were able to take the lead in the first half with an unconverted try scored by Raife Hughes.

Hari McDermott crossed the whitewash for a converted score the second half, but when the hosts went down to 14 players their visitors managed a converted try in response.

However, it wasn't enough to stop Luctonians taking a 10-7 win.

Extreme crosswinds made for tricky playing conditions as Luctonians under-14s hosted Hereford.

A strong defence and team effort by Luctonians allowed them to take a 12-0 semi-final victory.

Try scorers for the hosts were Alex Powell and Jack Condliffe with conversions by Ewan Lewis.

Both the under-16s and under-14s will now be playing in the finals on April 28 at Dudley Kings.

The final game was another local derby tie with Luctonians Colts hosting Malvern in an attempt to defend their North Midlands Colts Cup.

A powerful Malvern side arrived at a blustery Mortimer Park which led to a close encounter with both teams defending well.

First half tries from Lewis Parkes and Connor Wilkins took Lucs to a 12-0 half-time lead.

Malvern struck first in the second half before Max Smith extended the home team's lead with another try.

Another return to the other side of the pitch allowed Malvern to score a try in response.

However, Jack Prescott took a quick penalty to secure a 22-10 victory.

The Colts will now travel to Old Halesonians on April 7 to play the hosts in the final.
