ADAM Newbury assisted Hereford Lads Club on his debut as they took an emphatic 6-0 victory over Smethwick Rangers.

The midfielder, who moved across the city from Wellington last week, played his part in two goals as his new side moved 10 points above local rivals Welly.

The hosts were in a mood for goals from the outset with Alex Lancett crossing for Ashley Lear to put his side ahead.

Newbury's free-kick was headed home by Jay Cuthbertson to double their lead before Lear fired home his own set piece.

An emphatic half of football for Lads Club ended with Newbury's cross causing problems in the Smethwick defence resulting in an own goal to give the hosts a 4-0 lead at the break.

After playing his part in forcing home the fourth goal Kalum Wildig got on the score-sheet himself with a fifth.

Manager Danny Moon got in on the action but saw his effort rattle off the bar only for James Hancocks to net from the rebound.

Elsewhere in the West Midlands Premier, Wellington played out a goal-less draw against fellow mid-table side AFC Bridgnorth.

Leaders Tividale were far too strong for Pegasus Juniors and sent them to a 4-0 defeat at Old School Lane.
