- After weathering early pressure the Bulls had the first attempt at goal as Tom Owen-Evans corner fell down to Mike Symons, but his close range effort was blocked.
- Owen-Evans should have put them ahead after 18 minutes but sent his headed effort over from close range.
- Ashton goalkeeper George McMahon then made two saves to firstly deny Owen-Evans' and then Kieron Thomas.
- The Bulls were on top and Josh Gowling felt his side deserved a penalty as his close range effort was blocked, by what he claimed was a hand.
- Ashton almost took a shock lead before the break after a ball into the box deflected off Danny Greenslade into the path of Liam Martin.
- The forward beat Matt Yates but was denied by a last ditch Jordan Cullinane-Liburd block before the Hereford goalkeeper saved the rebound.
- In a second half of few chances it took until the 58th minute for Hereford to go close again as Owen-Evans' free-kick was tipped wide by goalkeeper George McMahon.
- Owen-Evans was causing a host of problems and forced McMahon into action again after Richards played him through on goal.
- Substitute James Roberts had a good chance with 10 minutes remaining but sent his curling shot just wide.
