WALES and Lions legend John Taylor will be speaking at Ledbury Rugby Club's black tie dinner on April 18.
Apart from his ITV World Cup broadcasting, Taylor was a key member of one of the greatest Welsh teams of the 70s.
He played in all four tests against the mighty All Blacks in 1971 – the one and only time that the British Lions have defeated New Zealand in a test series.
Coached by Carwyn James, the team won the series 2-1 – despite the roughing up the team had at the hands of Canterbury, prior to the first test.
They were the only team to beat all the provincial opposition during a three month tour that created the legendary status that the team now enjoys.
Taylor has a wealth of first hand recollections that will be a delight to rugby fans.
Tickets for the three course dinner are £40 each – numbers are limited to 160, so guests are urged to book early to avoid disappointment.
