HEREFORD FC have confirmed the signing of teenage forward James Waite on loan from Cardiff City for the rest of the season.
The 19-year-old, has made 11 appearances for the Cardiff City under-23 side this season, scoring five times.
He was signed after being identified by Ryan Green, who now has a scouting role at Hereford.
Hereford Head of Football Tim told the club’s website: “James is a diminutive forward who is extremely lively, he has an eye for goal and is comfortable playing out wide or in a more advanced role.
“Having a good relationship with Cardiff I’ve spoken to James Rowberry (First Team Coach) and James McCarthy (Academy Manager) and would like to thank them both for their help.
“James’ arrival is a result of us developing a scouting network.
“Ryan (Green) first identified him as a potential loan signing before Christmas, and he has gone on to watch James on a number of occasions.
The Cardiff City website describe Waite as: “James is a clever and tricky player who has an array of tricks and skills to off-balance and beat his opponent. He can play in a number of positions across the midfield, but is equally comfortable in a forward role.
Although small in stature, James has a robust technical armoury, a big heart and an excellent attitude.”
