WESTFIELDS showed their promotion credentials once again as they put six goal past Boldmere St Michaels with no reply.

Fields were led from the front by new marksman John Mills, who led by example by netting a brace and was involved in the build-up play on several of the other goals on the pitch.

In fact it was Mills who almost put Andy Bevan's side ahead in the early stages but the home keeper prevented the goal with a brave save at the striker’s feet.

Westfields took a 26th minute lead when neat interchanging movement between Mills and Ben Miller laid on a chance for Aidan Thomas who swept the ball home.

Boldmere came back at Westfields and almost drew level but Sam Gwynne cleared off the line at the far post and then Gwynne was involved again with a fine tackle to prevent Boldmere getting in a shot on goal as they looked dangerous and looked to be drawing level.

On the stroke of half-time Fields went 2-0 ahead, good build-up play saw Miller sweep the ball home from the edge of the penalty area into the top corner.

After the break Jamie Molyneux wasted little time in increasing Westfields’ lead when he cut in from the right hand side and fired low into the far corner to make it 3-0.

Marksman Mills got in on the scoring act on 70 minutes when he too pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area and slammed it past the home keeper.

Westfields were really on top now and substitute Ben Hayes put over a fine cross from the right which Sam Rawlings got on the end of and hit a low shot past the home keeper for his side's fifth.

Boldmere still had opportunities to get a goal and twice Keiron Blackburn made good saves from close range.

However, Fields were in the mood for more goals and netted a sixth goal when danger-man Mills was on the spot to seize an opportunity with a minute remaining.

Westfields have a free week this Saturday before travelling to Stourport Swifts on February 2.
