WORCESTER Raiders moved two points off the top of West Midlands League Division One with a 3-0 win at Newport Town.

Rich Smith's double and a goal from Kyle Belmonte were combined with a man-of-the-match display from recent signing Dean Waldron.

With leaders Darlaston Town not playing, Raiders are closer to the summit and also have three games in hand after 13 league victories in a row.

They visit local rivals Droitwich Spa, who groundshare with Stourport Swifts, in the Division One League Cup on Wednesday (7.45pm).

Third-placed Spa, meanwhile, were without a fixture at the weekend.

Jake Hollylee bagged a hat-trick as Bromyard Town won 3-2 at ninth-placed Wyrley to go up to fourth-from-bottom position.

Pershore Town moved above Dudley Sports out of the relegation places to third from bottom in the Premier Division.

Town enjoyed a fifth league win of the season and a rare clean sheet, seeing off Herefordshire visitors Wellington 2-0.

Fifth-placed hosts Malvern Town were held 1-1 by mid-table AFC Bridgnorth.

A series of efforts went off target before Malvern went ahead on 42 minutes.

Jamie Sauntson's 40-yard shot bounced in front of keeper Callum Grant and went through his arms on its way into the net.

Bridgnorth equalised just after the hour mark when substitute Brandon Bristow fired home a corner from the edge of the box.

Sauntson cleared off the line to deny Bridgnorth a winner while Louis Loader's injury-time effort at the other end was saved by Grant's legs.

The match was watched by 146 fans at the HDanywhere Community Stadium.

Inkberrow are only three points off the top in Midland League Division Three following a 4-2 home win over mid-table Coventrians.

Goals from Nathan Davies (2), Alex Griffiths and George Thomas helped continue a fine season for the villagers.

Inkberrow have won five out of their last six games since going down 2-1 to leaders AFC Solihull on December 8.
