HEREFORD Head Coach Marc Richards said that his side are learning how to manage games after holding onto a 2-1 victory against Billericay Town.

The Bulls came from behind to progress in the FA Trophy with a 2-1 victory over Billericay Town with Tom Owen-Evans equalised before George Lloyd hit the winner.

“I thought we played well in spell but it was frustrating again to concede a sloppy goal, said Richards.

“I thought apart from them 10-15 minutes we were the better team in the first half and created a lot of chances. The first one with George Lloyd before their goal and the off-side one which we have watched back and he is not off-side.

“I’m pleased but it’s a bit frustrating that we’ve conceded a sloppy goal and weren’t ruthless enough.

“We knew what they were going to do in term of set-up as it was exactly the same starting 11 as Tuesday night against Bath.

“We were confident we knew what they were going to do but that goal took the stuffing out of us a little bit.

“We responded well and played some good football today. When we went 2-1 up we managed the game quite well and that was pleasing as it shows me they are taking a lot of things on board which is great.

“It’s very pleasing but a long way to go. It’s pleasing to keep that mini run going.”

However, midfielder James Wesoloski lasted just 14 minutes into his debut before coming off injured.

Richards added: “We’re absolutely gutted for James as we were really cautious with him coming back from a slight tweak in training.

“He played in a behind closed doors game on Tuesday and got through that fine and was looking really good.

“I thought he was excellent until obviously he’s pulled his hamstring. He’s absolutely gutted in there and so are we.”
