A JOHN Kyrle High School pupil has achieved a personal best to win a place at the finals of the British Schools Shooting Championship.
Year 7 pupil Abi Agami competed in the West Midlands British Schools Shooting Championship qualifier held at Ellesmere College in Shropshire, one of seven qualifiers which have been taking place throughout October and November all over the country.
At the Shropshire event, there were 48 children from years 6, 7 and 8 taking part in the junior event.
The competition consists of 20 shots from a 10 metre distance, with the eight highest-placed competitors shooting again for a place in the national final at Stoke Mandeville in January.
A personal best of 167 achieved Abi's place in the final in January.
