- From the first chance of the match Lads Club took the lead when Tom Dawson charged down a long ball and fired against the goalkeeper before netting the rebound.
- Sam Pearson had a chance to level on eight minutes but fired over after Saul Thomas had layed him off.
- The visitors doubled their lead after 27 minutes when James Hancocks hit a sweetly hit shot which swerved past the goalkeeper.
- Welly looked for a response and Saul Thomas sent his header over following a Will Perkins corner.
- Lads Club went close again at the start of the second half with Kiea Cowley-Hair ran through on goal but was denied by a last ditch tackle
- Moments later Ashley Lear saw his effort saved down low.
- With tackles flying in at from both sides Tom Dawson was eventually given his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
