- Westfields got off to a perfect start when they opened the scoring within two minutes after Welly goalkeeper Kyle De Garis failed to deal with a ball across the face of goal and Carlos Moreira slotted home.
- At the other end Welly were unfortunate not to level as Sam Pearson saw his shot saved onto the post which then fell kindly for the goalkeeper.
- They were made to pay for their missed opportunity when a clinical Ben Miller strike doubled the lead on seven minutes.
- Aiden Thomas looked to have put Westfields out of sight on the 36th minute when he turned sharply before shooting into the bottom corner.
- However, just a minute later Fields goalkeeper Ian Havard slipped allowing Saul Thomas to slide a goal back into an empty net.
- Moments before half-time Welly pulled a second goal back as Will Perkins' cross was flicked home by by Pearson.
- Fields regained their two goals advantage after 59 minutes when a defensive mistake following an Alex Hainault's cross allowed Aiden Thomas to tap home.
- The visitors almost sealed the victory moments later when Molyneux's cross was met by a stretching Ben Miller who could only guide the ball onto the bar.
- Any faint hope for the hosts was ended with 10 minutes remaining when Molyneux ran onto a long ball and rounded the goalkeeper before sliding home.
- Welly would have the last say with Paul Jones sending a cross come shot goalwards which deflected into the net.
