HEREFORD City Harriers got off to a quick start to ruin The Lion's perfect Sunday League record.

Player manager Martin Rivett led the way when he fired home from an acute angle to give the home side an early lead.

George Worswick then picked out Craig Forsyth to head home a fine second before the former then found the back of the net to put Harriers 3-0 up after just 20 minutes.

The Lion, who had previously won all eight league matches, then reduced the deficit before Worswick and Josh Mecke scored before the interval.

In the second half, the Leominster side applied more pressure and got one goal back but a second from Rivett made the game safe to hand Harriers a convincing 6-2 victory to put them second in the table.

The other Sunday league fixture between Credenhill and Cosmos was postponed.
