- Hereford won their first match under Marc Richards and booked their place in the FA Trophy first round following a 3-1 victory over FC United of Manchester.
- Little separated the sides early on the the first chance fell to Mike Symons who fired wide after controlling a free-kick before George Lloyd rattled the bar with a speculative shot.
- Jack Banister put the visitors ahead after 15 minutes when initial shot was blocked but Harvey Smith's poor clearance fell back to the striker to fire home.
- The visitors should have been two goals ahead after 26 minutes but for a double save from Matt Yates.
- The Hereford stopper denied Kurt Willoughby firstly and then a Thomas Peers effort from close range.
