HEREFORD Head Coach Marc Richards says that he ‘understands’ the fans reaction and said that the buck stops with him.

The Edgar Street faithful booed the side at times during the defeat and let their feelings known following the full-time whistle.

“I understand the frustrations and why they are really disappointed from a results perspective at the moment,” said Richards.

“Up until Saturday the performances have been okay but ultimately it is a results business and we are not getting the results at the moment.

“I completely understand their frustrations and it’s something we need to work out.

"It’s part of the parcel of being a football manager at whatever level. Yes there is pressure but I will take all of the pressure as I want the players to play with the freedom when we get up and running and hopefully put some points on the board.

“The buck stops with me from that perspective but we need to sort it out quickly. I’m absolutely gutted, really disappointed and frustrated and I told the lads that at half-time.

When asked for a message for the frustrated fans Richards added: “Stick with it, we know what we’re doing.

“I know the fans don’t feel like that at the moment but we will turn this around. Stick with us so hopefully when the good times do come we can enjoy them together.

“I don’t know what the message was from the players to the fans. In the heat of it, in that raw emotion after you’ve just lost a game and been down to 10-men I hope the players kept their cool in term of what messages were being sent out.

“That wasn’t a message from us to say to the players.”

Richards said that the main issue was in their 3-0 defeat was the sending off and resulting penalty of Danny Greenslade.

“I think the sending off has changed the game so it’s very disappointing,” added Richards.

“We had a good goal disallowed as well but that’s where we’re at and we just need to knuckle down and turn this around.

“The main issue today was the sending off. I thought it was a penalty as Danny (Greenslade) switched off so it was a definitely penalty.

“But I thought the red was really harsh and there was covering defenders, it was yellow at best but that’s where we’re at.

“It’s frustrating that he has come to that decision but we weren’t good enough ultimately as we have ended up losing the game.

“Just before half-time we switched off and didn’t give ourselves a chance to stay in the game and potentially get something out of the game.

“We know that conceding from set pieces have been an issue and it’s something we have been trying to work on and continue to work on and we will continue to do that.”
