HEREFORD men's hockey club continued to struggle in the De Cymru & The Marches 1 after they suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat at the hands of Cirencester.

The loss allowed Herefordshire side Ross-on-Wye go above them following a 4-1 victory over Cardiff & Met C.

Both sides occupy bottom three places on six points.

Leominster have started brighter in the Conference North with two wins and three draws from their opening seven fixtures despite a 4-2 defeat by Gloucester City last weekend.

After being deducted three points for conceding a game last weekend Hereford women suffered a 2-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Chippenham.

Leominster women took a third away win of the season when they travelled to Stroud and came away with a 4-0 victory.

Meanwhile in the Severn Division 1, Hereford seconds picked up a first league win with a 3-1 victory over Bourton & Sherborne 2 and Ross-on-Wye drew 1-1 with Bretforton 2nd.

In the South Wales Hockey League border side Presteigne suffered a first league defeat 7-1 to Premier 2 leaders Cardiff & Met Ladies 2nd.

In Division 1, Kington remain unbeaten following a 3-3 draw with Cardiff University Ladies 3rd.
