HINTON Reserves remain in joint top of the Herefordshire Division One despite suffering a second defeat of the season handing the advantage of Ludlow Town Colts.

Colts have played two games less than their promotion rivals and have a perfect record from their six games played.

Fellow Shropshire side Orleton did the Colts a favour last weekend by beating Hinton 4-0.

Meanwhile Ludlow Town Colts ran out emphatic 7-1 winners at basement side Ewyas Harold Reserves.

Josh Burns scored a hat-trick as Ledbury Town Reserves picked up their first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over in-form Ross Juniors.

Wellington Reserves came from behind to maintain their lead at the top of the Herefordshire Premier following a 4-2 win at Kington Town.

Kington were 2-1 ahead at the break, however Matthew Williams completed his hat-trick and substitute Joe Beach the other as the leaders marched to a seventh league win.

Shropshire side Clee Hill remain the only team to have only lost one of their opening eight games and disposed of Holme Lacy 4-2.

Ryan Rowlett continued his goal-scoring form netting for the host along with Matthew Wargen, but their side fell to a fourth defeat.

Elsewhere Kingstone Rovers mixed start to the Herefordshire Premier continued with a 3-1 defeat at Hinton with Harry Meadows, Joel Nicholls and Kane Nicholls all scoring for the hosts.

Ewyas Harold continue to struggle with just two wins from their opening 10 games following a 3-0 defeat at Fownhope.

Kieran Chambers, Sam Lewis and Ben Price all netted against a Harold side that finished the game with nine-men following two red cards.

The top of Division Two remains too tight to call with four teams separated by three points after seven games.
