WESTFIELDS were once again ruing missed first half chances as Coventry United held them to a 2-2 draw.

Westfields started well, as they have done in previous weeks, but missed a number of first half opportunities with Ben Miller, Keanu Cooper and Josh Thomas all having good opportunities in a goal-less first half.

However, after the break both sides produced attacking displays with Fields introducing Jamie Molyneux and Mark Magee.

Westfields eventually took the lead after 55 minutes when Molyneux had a powerful shot brilliantly saved by the visitors’ keeper and Carlos Moreira was on the spot to tap home the rebound.

Bevan's side looked capable of increasing their lead when Craig Jones had a shot charged down.

However, the visitors shocked the home crowd with two goals in two minutes to turn the tie on its head.

They drew level in the 68th minute when Arum Soleman scored from a deflected shot and then two minutes Curvin Ellis put the visitors ahead.

Westfields came storming back and had a number of opportunities before a Craig Jones shot was handled inside the penalty area and Magee netted.

Bevan's men threw everything forward in a desperate attempt to seal a late winner but settled for a draw.

Westfields are at home again on Saturday when they play Romulus in the second round of the FA Vase.

They will be looking for cup revenge on the Birmingham side, who knocked out Wellington in the last round, as the visitors beat Westfields in the FA Cup back in August.
