LUCTONIANS failed to kill off Bridgnorth and were made to pay the price when a last gasp penalty allowed the visitors to take a 16-13 win in the North Midlands Cup.

A changed Lucs side had the better of the early play and Helarius Kisting could have scored before Stu Kirby kicked an 18th minute penalty to put the hosts ahead.

Kirby kicked his second on 30 minutes as Luctonians stretched their lead.

The opening try eventually came when Drew Cheshire finished off a good move with Kisting and Kirby combining to put him through under the posts to give them a 13-0 lead.

Bridgnorth used the wind to their advantage in the second half kicking a penalty after 48 minutes before running over a brace of tries.

Despite looking strong going forwards Luctonians failed to capitalise and would eventually pay the price.

With just moments left of the tie Lucs have away an offside inside their own half which allowed Bridgnorth to kick the winning points.

This weekend Luctonians return to league action when they make the long trip to eight place Sheffield.
