A CRICKET stalwart who was one of the founding members of Woolhope Cricket Club has died aged 86.
Norman Williams lived for the sport and was a big part of the village club, where he also lived.
Williams was one of the founding members of Woolhope Cricket Club in 1952 and was a former player along with being part of the administration and management side of the club.
"He was a very influential man and was a hugely respected person within the club," said Woolhope Cricket Club chairman Adrian Thomas.
"He was a charming guy and will be sorely missed. He was a farmer by trade and many times I met him at the market."
Williams passed on his love for cricket to his son Andrew who is also part of the club.
His funeral will take place next Thursday (October 25) at 2pm in Woolhope Parish Church.
