BASEMENT side Kington Town continue to struggle in the Herefordshire Premier as Sam Lloyd took over as first team manager at the club.

Stu Davies decided to step down from his role last week and Lloyd took charge for Saturday’s trip to Kingstone Rovers.

However, it was a similar story as fellow league new boys Kingstone took their second win from four games with a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Matthew Tandy, Marc Avery and Matthew Maturi.

With table-toppers Clee Hill United not in league action reigning champions Wellington Reserves drew level on points following a 3-1 win over Hinton.

Nick Britton netted a brace while Chris Bush scored the other as Welly ran away winners despite Harry Meadmore pulling a goal back.

A weekend to remember for Ledbury Town saw the club’s first team triumph 4-0 over Fownhope to move up to fourth.

Ledbury’s most improved player of last season Curt Williams bagged a brace as young forwards Harri John and Alistair Holder were also on target.

Meanwhile, Ewyas Harold booked their place in the next round of the HFA County Challenge Cup following a convincing 3-0 victory over lowly Tenbury Town.

Matthew Norton, Ryan Losito and Owen Prout were all on target for Harold as they reached the quarter-final.

Two second round ties remain to be played with Lads Club, Westfields, Kingstone Rovers, Bartestree and Clee Hill already having booked their places in the last eight alongside Ewyas Harold.
