IF you have ever thought you could referee a football match then here is your chance.

The Herefordshire FA currently have a shortage of match official and are running a basic referees course next month which is free for adults.

The FA Referees Course is designed for anyone aged over 14 who want to referee in youth, men's or women's football.

The course provides participants with an insight to the laws of the game and their practical application on the field of play. It also looks at the skills required to be a referee.

Candidates should feel comfortable to referee a game of football at the completion of the course, with 75 per cent of the course being in a practical environment.

Due to the current adult referee shortage in Herefordshire the course, which is usually £80, is free for those aged over 16.

The courses will take place at the Herefordshire FA office at Lads Club.

The first session is on November 1 between 6.30pm and 9.30pm before further sessions on November 3,8 or 10.
