BARESTREE manager Dave Cadwallader says that all their focus is on league success despite reaching the quarter-final of the Midlands Football League Challenge Vase Cup.

The Tree manager watched as his side took a 3-1 victory over Birmingham Tigers in the first round of the Vase on Saturday.

However, after picking up just three wins from their opening six matches Cadwallader says that their prime focus is on Division Three success.

"We have had a mixed start to the season but we want to get promotion which is the most important thing," said the Bartestree manager.

"Two teams are guaranteed promotion but we want to try and win it not finish second. You have get to set targets and try to achieve them."

On Saturday a Dale Richards header from a Adam Bendall cross put the hosts ahead, but their visitors were level by half-time.

Bartestree continued their pressure in the second half and regained the lead when Levi Ellis' cross was finished at the back post by Jake Cleeves.

The victory was sealed with a third goal after Miles Langford was taken down inside the box before he stepped up to slot home the resulting penalty.

Bartestree are back in cup action this weekend when they visit Ledbury Town in the second round of the HFA County Challenge Cup.
