LADS Club manager Danny Moon hopes his side can compete with the teams who are able to pay players to play in the fight for a top four finish in the West Midlands Premier.

Moon was delighted with his side’s performance as they clinched a 2-0 home win over Bewdley Town on Tuesday night.

Once again the forward pairing of Kiea Cowley and Tom Harding sent the hosts on their way to victory.

Lads Club took a third minute lead with Cowley flicking through for Harding who outmuscled the last defender before firing home.

Ten minutes later Cowley scored a pivotal second with a shot come shot which looped into the net.

“It was probably our best performance for a few weeks as we defended very well and limited them to few chances,” said Moon.

“The whole team were brilliant last night and started at such a high tempo Bewdley couldn’t deal with it.

“We want to try and stay in the top four if we can but there are a lot of teams up and around there. It is firstly pivotal that we get enough points to stay in the league.

“Then we can look at the FA Cup places but where that stands with the league re-organisation I don’t know.”

Moon says that his side are closing the gap on those that pay money to their players including leaders Black Country Rangers, Wolverhampton Casuals and Malvern.

"The large sides are well in front of us spending money," added Moon.

"Against the top two we have lost 2-1 this season but haven't deserved that result. There was a gap there last season but this year it is not as much."

Lads Club were left disappointed on Saturday after Bilston Town came from behind twice to clinch a 2-2 draw with Harding scoring both goals for Moon’s side.

Pegasus Juniors suffered a fifth defeat from eight games as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to an AFC Bridgnorth team who had only won one prior to Saturday.

Paul Jones netted again for Wellington as they continued to climb up the table following a 1-0 home victory over Smethwick Rangers.

Bromyard Town picked up a third league victory after edging a 3-2 victory over Wellington Amateurs.
