HEREFORD Squash, Tennis and Racketball Centre held their adult tennis finals day on Saturday when members battled for silverware.

The finals followed a host of the knock-out games that had been running over previous months.

Callum Treasurer won the men's singles final, which was vigorously defended by Alex Lane, while Mike Howard won the plate final following a tussle with Tom Harrington.

Sharron Haworth and last year's winner Mia Price had a closely contested women's singles final with Haworth running out the victor.

Both men's and women's singles winners were also victorious in the doubles event.

In the men's doubles Treasurer was joined by Oscar Darke to take the title while in the women's Haworth was partnered by Janie Allman.

The mixed doubles saw Mia and Ryan Price take the title.

Russ Spink and Alan Evans won the the Men's doubles over 50 exhibition competition while the women's singles over-50 crown went to Rita Orr. The club's Most Improved Female of the Year award went to Rachael Manacchini-Godfrey while the men's award went to Darke.

Friends and families supported the finals event and there was a barbecue and raffle supporting Hereford Carers Support.

Hereford Squash, Tennis and Racketball Centre have had a busy summer season with seven teams entered into the Hereford and Worcester League with the Men's A team winning their league and the Mixed A team coming second in their league.

Awards for the juniors will take place at a separate event later in the year.
