JUNIOR members of Ross Golf Club continue to impress on the national stage.

Kate Bibby recently won the prestigious West of England Girls Championships held at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club in Somerset.

Bibby, now a scratch players shot a three over par round to take the title, it was her first win at national level impressing onlookers who included England selectors and crucially the event carried key world ranking points.

Cameron Hughes, aged 10, recently qualified to return to St Andrews for the second successive year to play two rounds in the Wee Wonders British Championships.

In the Boys aged nine to 10 group Hughes shot a combined 168 total on the Strathtyrum Course to finish 20th in a year in which his handicap has tumbled from 37 to 21 having been 46 when he started his coaching relationship with the Ross Club in 2016.

Meanwhile 21-year-old former John Kyrle High School pupil and Ross Club Juniors Captain Niall Powell is currently impressing abroad.

Powell begins the next stage of his golfing career at the New Mexico State University in America with a fourth place finish in his first Amateur Tournament with a combined 138 total being six under gross par.
