BUDDING golfers from across Herefordshire once again took part in the PeeWee Junior Golf Tour during the school holidays.

With the oldest competitor aged 12 the event is designed to provided youngsters and their families with enjoyable days out in the countryside and gentle exercise.

Host clubs set up a a shortened course to hold these events and all boys and girls are welcome regardless of their golf handicap.

The Grove in Leominster held a round of the Tour with others at: Oswestry GC, The Shropshire, Shrewsbury GC and Shifnal GC where an average of 50 children.

At the end of these five events the strongest 12 players are selected to play a Ryder Cup style match against Nottingham Nippers.

This year the PeeWee Junior Golf Tour celebrated its 16th annual event.
