WESTFIELDS manager Andy Bevan was left pleased with four points from two games as his side maintained their Midlands Football League challenge over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Fields sit second in the table having won five of their opening seven games despite missing key players due to long-term injuries.

Captain Kane Khaki and Aidan Thomas will be out for the next two months at least while Jamie Molyneux is also returning to health.

Despite this Westfields came from two goals down to clinch a 2-2 draw at newly promoted Dunkirk on Saturday thanks to two late goals.

After squandering early chances Fields found themselves two behind with 20 minutes remaining. However, substitute Mark Magee rattled the post before Ben Miller fired home from the penalty spot after Carlos Moreira was brought down.

Their deserved equaliser came four minutes from time when from a corner Alex Hainault rose high above the defence to head home powerfully into the top corner.

Westfields hosted another newly promoted side on Monday in the form of Wolverhampton Sporting Community.

After an even first half Matt Reeve rifled home in the 46th minute and then five minutes later Ben Hayes headed home a Craig Jones cross at the far post to seal the victory.

Bevan was delighted with the bumper crowd of 161 fans who left pleased with the football they watched from the hosts.

"From the two games four points is what we asked for when looking at the bigger picture," added Bevan.

Westfields have also made the addition of Joshua Thomas after the young midfielder was released by Cheltenham Town following his first year as a professional.

"Josh is available for selection this weekend which gives me a tough decision to make with no new injuries from last weekend," added Bevan.

"In the six games we have played our bench has played a significant part and players are having to lose out or being loaned out despite our injuries. They are all working hard and deserving of a place.

"Josh is a strong centre-midfielder with a good shot going forwards and he has got a good engine. He tried to get a club at a higher standard but it hasn't worked out so I'm looking forward to hopefully getting him involved."
