PAUL Guest was Worcester St John’s quickest rider at the Saracen Racing Club open time trial on the 10-mile course at Alcester.

Seventy-nine riders took on the popular route but a tough headwind hampered them until the finish.

Guest achieved 21 minutes 30 seconds, Mark Cooper 23.28 and Martin Stanley 23.26. 

Adrian Murray did a personal best of 24.13.

Meanwhile, 38 riders from eight different clubs met at Severn Stoke for the Worcester St John’s weekly 10-mile time trial.

Graham Browning (VC Sevale) and Ollie Morgan (Team Echelon) were joint first with a time of 21.32.

Home rider Simon Garrett was third just eight seconds behind in 21.40.

Tom Mansfield (365 Velo RC) rode the fastest road bike in 23.08 Terry Nolan (27.38) and Malcolm Bullock (30.19) took part in their first time trials of the season.

Rick Allen achieved his third gold medal qualifying time of 27.51.

Guest clocked 22.23, Russell Kingston 22.26, Will Davies 22.34, Mark Daffin 22.34, Toby Caplen 22.48 and Rob Nicholls 23.22.
