Hereford manager Pete Beadle said that his side have set a standard for themselves after clinching a 3-0 victory over Blyth Spartans.

The hosts dominated the first half with Harry White’s well taken opener followed by Mike McGrath’s headed second.

A stand-out performance by midfielder Elliot Richards saw him seal the points with a third goal 11 minutes from time.

Bulls manager Pete Beadle said that his players have set a standard for themselves which he doesn’t expect them to dip below.

“It’s the first game of the season and the marker is for us and showing our intentions,” said Beadle.

“I thought we were exceptional today and they (Blyth) are a good side. The goals came at really good times for us when we were on top and in control of the game.

“I’ve said to the players that they’ve set their standards so far for this season so there is no excuse for dropping below how they’ve played today.

“The front three worked tirelessly today up and down that touchline and we had a really solid performance today.”

The Bulls manager said that the search is still on for a goalkeeper and forward as they prepare for Nuneaton Borough Town on Thursday.

“Unfortunately we missed out on a goalkeeper yesterday,” the manager added.

“We are in very early talks with another one to come in and we are looking at a wide-man stroke forward as well.

“It’s very early and we’re just talking to them. We have got (Calvin) Dinsley to come back from holiday so he will make us stronger again.

“If we can add these two at the end of the week then we will be really pleased.”
