AFTER struggling for goals in a relegated Chester side last season striker Harry White is hoping to ignite his goalscoring calibre in a Bulls shirt during this campaign.

The 23-year-old from Stratford has already hit the goal trail in pre-season netting against Pegasus Juniors and Sporting Khalsa.

After dropping down with Chester from the National League Premier the marksman felt a move to Edgar Street was the right one.

"When I saw Hereford were making a come-back I always thought there was no reason why I couldn't be playing here in a few years or whenever the time was right and it feels right now," said White.

"It was tough for me last year injury wise, in pre-season the first game I was feeling really good, fit and ready to go and then I picked up an injury which was a downer as I was ready to go.

"I got back but couldn't get back to where I was and with the position in the league we were in it was a really tricky season. When you are down there everything goes against you and you are just making your own chances. It was hard to get a clear cut opportunity and I don't remember getting one all season.

"I want to make amends for the season I had and pick-up at the start of this year."

After impressing at Gloucester City in 2014-15 White was signed for Barnsley but failed to get into the first team and subsequently loaned out before a move to Chester City last season.

Describing his style of play, White said: "I'm a worker and will work my socks off, running and closing down defenders.

"I do like coming short to receive the ball and will occasionally spin in behind as well. I'm an all-round forward not specifically a nine or a 10 but I like to do both roles.

"I'll look to score a good amount of goals. I've heard a lot of rumours about Edgar Street and seen games here and it looks incredible on a good night in front of all these fans.

"I've never played here, I've always wanted to and I'm glad to be here."
