FUNDRAISING Bulls fans have the opportunity to raise vital funds for the club while taking part in their own personal challenges over the next 12 months.

Keep the Bulls Flying is the message to Hereford fans from Hereford United Supporters Trust (HUST) as they raise money for the club in their share buying effort.

HUST have currently bought £152,000 shares in the club in their aim to purchase a 50 per cent shareholding (289,000 shares) in Hereford FC by March 2020.

The group aims to represent all supporters as the largest single shareholder in Hereford FC and partner the club with three board members- HUST currently has three Nominated Directors (HND) on the HFC board: Tony Taylor, Andrew Graham and Mick Merrick.

The group's vision is to have: active engagement with members, supporters and the wider community; maximise potential of ownership and management; work with the club to ensure long term viable and sustainable financial performance; encourage home grown talent via The Hereford FC Academy; assist in developing facilities at Edgar Street into a first class community stadium.

Current fundraising is provided by selling online and matchday 50/50 Draw tickets, Bulls Lotto, Prize Bulls 500 Club and nominal donations.

Now the group have launched the 'Keep the Bulls' flying initiative which has seen them set up a 'Just Giving' page where fans are being encouraged to take part in their own fundraising events to raise funds for the club.

The initiative is being launched with a Fun Day in association with Shobdon Aerodrome which will take place this Sunday 11am to 3pm, weather permitting, which includes a sponsored skydive.

"It's the first time HUST have done anything on this scale since the club reformed as Hereford FC," said Joanie Roberts, director and fundraiser of HUST.

"We need to do other things outside of the usual fundraising we do which have a limit on them to how many people turn up on a matchday. We want to keep the Bulls flying through the leagues and this is a way of supporting them and something people can get behind.

"With the Keep the Bulls Flying page on Go Fund Me anybody can put money in at any time. Somebody could run a marathon and want to raise money, so it is a way of them putting something back into the club and anybody can use that link.

"The club get 100 per cent of the money we raise which they can do whatever they want whether that's on players or anything else."

Joanie will be taking part in a sponsored skydive as part of the Fun Day on Sunday and says she is 'absolutely terrified' while there will also be a range of events and refreshments on offer while past players will also take part in a live chat.

"I wanted to do something for my club and I hope that the event gets people together," added Roberts.

"If I have to jump out of a plane then I can do it and if people want to join me they can."
