HEREFORDSHIRE will be hoping that the weather will be kinder this weekend when they head for High Wycombe to take on Buckinghamshire in their latest MCCA T20 double header.

The county side were frustrated by the rain last weekend when they saw both scheduled matches against Shropshire at Colwall washed out without a ball bowled.

This leaves Herefordshire as only unbeaten side in their group of five - they are matched with Shropshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire - and they have already beaten Oxfordshire twice.

Herefordshire will take the same 11 who were scheduled to face Shropshire with Dan Conway and Chris Whittock returning to make up a party of 13.

"Dan Conway hardly ever misses a game and Chris Whittock is a very good player," said Herefordshire's chairman of cricket Ian Macklin. "We have been trying to get him involved again.

"It will be down to skipper Matt Pardoe and coach Steve Watkins who plays in the second of the two games but everyone in the 13-man squad will get at least one game."

Pardoe himself is a key member of the side with both bat and ball.

The former Worcestershire man clinched a two-run win for Herefordshire in their first match against Oxfordshire when he bowled the home side's last man and then lashed a match-winning century in the second match.

Buckinghamshire have already beaten Berkshire once in one of the more surprising results in the group stages.

Berkshire, who won the double last summer, are probably the favourites to progress to the finals day from the group but two Herefordshire wins on Sunday could set up an exciting day when Berkshire visit Eastnor in the final round of matches on Sunday, June 17.
