CHAMPION jockey Richard Johnson saddled Tornado In Milan to victory in the feature race at Ludlow last week.
The Evan Williams-trained 11/8 favourite survived a couple of scares before winning the Bromfield Sand & Gravel Handicap Chase – a class 2 race with a £13,600 top prize – ahead of Just Cameron.
Flashing Dance conquered the soft going in the Ludlow Food Centre Handicap Hurdle, jockey Robert Dunne guiding the 9/2 shot to a three-length victory ahead of Cyrius Moriviere and favourite Awake At Midnight.
The Ludlow Gold Cup was won by Mr Mercurial at 3-1, the ten-year-old Sheila Crow trained winner finishing well clear of the field in the Abberley Hall Open Hunters' Chase.
The afternoon started with hot 1/5 favourite Michael’s Mount taking the spoils in the seven-horse Windsor Clive International Novices' Hurdle before outsider Cap’N took the two-mile Alfa Aggregate Products Novices' Chase ahead of the heavily backed favourite Tree of Liberty.
The Severn Hospice Novices' Hurdle was won by favourite Silver Kayf and the final race of the afternoon, the GC Rickards Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race, went the way of Rouge Vif with Gavin Sheehan in the saddle.
The next meeting at Ludlow is on Monday, April 9 with the first race at 2pm.
