JACK Deaman says he was glad to be back in the Hereford FC squad last night.

The Bulls vice-captain has missed out lately, with manager Pete Beadle saying he needed a break.

"I've spoken to the manager a couple of times since not being in the squad and we've cleared a few things up in terms of performances and where we want to go," said Deaman.

"I've had a little break from the squad and am back in it now.

"Promotion is the aim and anything I can to do to help that, I will.

"But with every player, they want to play every game.

"Dara has come in from West Brom and you know the pedigree he has got.

"He's proved himself while he has been here and I thought he was outstanding and deserved to be man-of-the-match.

"And you know what you're going to get from [Ryan] Green.

"It's competition, but it's healthy competition and that's what every good team has."
