EWYAS Harold are through to the quarter-finals of the HFA County Challenge Cup after a penalty shoot-out win over nine-man Bartestree.

Mike Bambrough was the hero, saving two spot-kicks as Harold advanced thanks to a 4-2 win.

The tie finished 2-2 after extra-time with Jake Cleves and Cam McNally scoring for Harold.

The rearranged first round tie between Malvern Town Under-21s and Holme Lacy took place last Thursday.

Malvern won 5-1 thanks to four goals from Matt Turner; Justin Halfpenny replying for Lacy.

The original match was abandoned due to Holme Lacy's Matt Wargen sustaining a serious injury.

Just 48 hours later, Holme Lacy lost 6-3 to Tenbury United in the Premier Division of the HFA County League.

Aaron Morris and Rob Hill both scored twice for Tenbury, with Mark Boucker and Ryan Morris also on target.

Holme Lacy's scorers were Halfpenny, James Upcott and Phil Thomas.

That defeat means Wellington Rangers have joined Ewyas Harold at the top of the division with 16 points after thumping Leominster Town 7-2.

Nick Britton scored four of the goals, with Ryan Daw (2) and James Price also netting.

Ledbury Town also had their scoring boots on thanks to a 8-1 win over Lads Club Reserves.

Elsewhere, Nick Layton, Max Lewis and Daniel Stack scored for Kington Town Colts in a 3-1 win at Malvern and Hinton beat Pegasus Reserves 3-2.
